Myriam received her doctor degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Valle, Colombia, South America, and is a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist in the State of California. She was the Cultural Competence Program Manager for the County of Riverside Department of Mental Health until June 2015. During the last 27 years she has dedicated her career to participate in the development of quality cultural and linguistic systems of care. In November 2006, at the annual Cultural Competence and Mental Health Summit, Myriam was the recipient of the Professional Award. This award is giving in recognition of outstanding leadership in the field of cultural competence and mental health.
She provides direct services as an independent contractor in San Bernardino and specializes in providing cultural and linguistic therapy to the first generation Spanish-speaking population. She is experienced in working with both children and adult populations in areas of substance abuse, domestic violence, and mental health issues.
