Telepsych is a service of delivering care and assessment using video conferencing. Telepsychiatry, TeleMentalHealth, and TeleMedicine are some of the terms that are used interchangeably with the same meaning as Telepsych in the specialty of Psychiatry.
With the advent of technology making it easier for us to connect from all corners of the world, it only makes sense to use this technology to connect patients with their doctors. Telemedicine has been growing in popularity with some of the medical specialties and psychiatry is one of them leadingthe front. Telepsych is already a popular option with patients and it is growing fast quickly.
- At IPMG we use HIPAA compliant video conferencing system for interaction between provider and patient and patient have an option to visit our nearest IPMG location or use computer, smartphone, or notebook from a quiet and private location from home or work or anyplace else patient choose to be.
- You can always see a provider or physician in person first and discuss the option of trying out Telepsych later on.

Some advantages include, access to your provider from home when transportation is an issue, or when an illness requires bedrest. It can also connect us with specialists in bigger cities that we may not have access to in smaller communities. Though nothing replaces the warmth of in-person visits, Telepsychiatry visits are helpful in creating greater flexibility all around.
Insurance:
Some insurances allow patients to be at non-IPMG location, but some require patient to be at a IPMG location. Our team will verify patient benefits even if you access from your electronics at home or any location. Other insurance may require you still visit your doctor’s office location closest to you and the doctor will see you through video-conferencing.
